Middle School Honors Chorus – INFO UPDATED!

Due to the ongoing and unpredictable circumstances surrounding Covid, the MS Choral Section has made the unfortunate decision to cancel 2021 NC MS Honor’s Chorus.  I assure you that there were many factors that contributed to the decision and your MS Choral Executive Board did not take the decision lightly.

Every year, the Middle School Honors Chorus is held in November, performing at the North Carolina Music Educator’s In-Service Conference.  This chorus provides an opportunity for the very best singers from across the state (grade 6,7, and 8) to come together and work with a nationally acclaimed choral conductor.  Click here to learn more…

ALL DATES & DEADLINES BELOW ARE TBD FOR 2021-2022, THANKS FOR BEING PATIENT WITH US AS WE NAVIGATE THIS SCHOOL YEAR!

Music Performance Adjudication (MPA)

ALL Middle School Choral directors are encouraged to bring one or more groups to your district MPA. It is a fabulous experience for your students and for you! We have well-qualified adjudicators who understand the particular “world” of our middle-school students, and who give wonderful comments, compliments, suggestions, and insight about each individual group. You can perform for comments and a rating, or for comments only if you are not sure you’re ready to be “rated”!

Sight-reading at Large MPA is a separate opportunity for comments and a rating or comments only and is required. In addition, you and your students can hear other middle school groups from around your district – what a great chance for you to have your students listen critically and assess what they hear from other groups – it is an invaluable learning tool!
