Who We Are

Welcome to NCMEA! Our mission is to advance music education by promoting the understanding and making of music by all.

Serving as the voice of music education in North Carolina since 1970, our organization is dedicated to providing opportunities for all students, enhancing music teaching, and furthering a culture of collaboration, diversity, and leadership within the profession. We work to provide valuable resources for teachers, parents, and administrators while advocating for music education at the local, state, and national levels.

Each year, NCMEA hosts the largest professional development conference and all student music events in the state. Join us as we work to empower the next generation to foster an inclusive vision for music education across North Carolina!
