Distributed by Bitmax, the documentary will be available to rent or buy on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, and YouTube TV after strong receptions at community, academic, and industry screenings nationwide.
Since its February 2024 premiere, the film has connected with educators, conductors, singers, and audiences, with screenings at major events hosted by ACDA and Chorus America underscoring its message about the power of communal singing.
Directed by Brian Gaukel and narrated by GRAMMY-winning conductor Jerry Blackstone, the film features 60+ performances and 100 interviews, with voices including Scott Hoying and Sanjay Gupta highlighting how singing together builds connection, healing, and belonging.
The documentary will debut in more than 60 international territories, with German subtitles available in select markets.
Beyond the digital release, the filmmakers are expanding educational and community outreach to bring the film into classrooms, rehearsal halls, and music programs nationwide.
Choral Singing in America: Nurturing the Country’s Soul explores the diversity of choral singing across the United States—from schools and churches to prisons, hospice centers, and neighborhood gatherings—and shows how collective singing builds empathy, hope, and community.
