Call For Conference Proposals 2020

The North Carolina Music Educators Association will celebrate it’s 50th Anniversary at our 2020 Conference. We invite submissions of conference proposals for consideration to be presented during the NCMEA Professional Development Conference in Winston-Salem, NC November 7-10, 2020.

Our 1,500 attendees cultivate music education in the fields of general music, band, chorus, jazz, orchestra, and music technology. Conference participants come from all educational levels and include K-12 students and teachers, pre-service collegiates and university/higher education faculty.

Deadline for submission is February 15, 2020.

We invite proposals that will enhance and promote NCMEA’s values of inclusion, equity, community, stewardship, comprehensiveness and innovation by strategically:

  • Promoting diversity in our profession representing a wide and changing spectrum of people and culture, abilities, economic backgrounds and gender identities;
  • Developing leadership to advocate for music education in the classroom, in school programs, and community as well as education policy at the local, state and federal level;
  • Providing opportunities for all students to create, perform, respond, and connect to all styles of music;
  • Enhancing music teaching through combining effective and dynamic new practices with proven strategies.
