DESCRIPTION:NCMEA’s 2022 Collegiate Conference Scholarships will cover the cost of conference registration ($50) for 28 deserving Collegiate NAfME members with demonstrated financial need. Scholarship recipients are expected to participate in conference sessions for a minimum of two days and are encouraged to attend the following two events: \n\nCollegiate Mixer on Sunday\, November 6th from 4:30 PM -5:20 PM\nCollegiate Business Meeting on Sunday\, November 6th from 5:30 PM -6:00 PM\n\nAll collegiate members with financial need are welcome to apply; collegiate students who are first-time conference attendees will receive priority. Please note that this scholarship award does not cover NAfME/NCMEA Membership which is required to attend the conference. Please visit https://nafme.org/join-renew/ to join or renew your membership before submitting your application.  \nApplication Requirements:\n\nCurrent collegiate member of NCMEA/NAfME\nCurrent student at a North Carolina higher education university/college\nCommitted to attend at least two days of conference\nStatement of financial need is signed by your C-NAfME chapter faculty advisor or Music Education professor\n\nSelection Process:\n\nApplications will be reviewed by the Collegiate Executive Board in the order in which they are received. SUMMARY:Elementary Section Mini-Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:  \nMembers of the Elementary Section Board are committed to providing support to elementary music teachers across the state in as many ways are needed. One of the areas we have found districts fall short for music teachers is content-specific professional development opportunities. In addition to the fall NCMEA conference\, the Elementary Section also offers a Spring Mini-Conference on a Saturday in late March or April. This is 1 full day of sessions presented by practicing master teachers to help further knowledge\, add to music teachers’ “bag of tricks” with engaging activities\, provide audition tips for Honors Chorus\, and re-energize teachers with new ideas to get through the end of the school year. If you are interested in presenting a session for the mini-conference\, proposals are accepted during January and February.  \nThis year’s mini-conference will be on Saturday\, April 30 at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point. Bryan Youth Concerto Competition\, North Carolina’s premier performance competition for young instrumentalists. Candidates aged 13 to 21 hone their skills for a preliminary video audition viewed by the Symphony’s distinguished panel of judges. Select finalists in two age groups will compete for cash awards and the chance to perform in concert with your North Carolina Symphony. \nIf you have questions about the Concerto Competition\, please contact education@ncsymphony.org \n*Competition winners from the Young Artist Division are granted the opportunity of performing with the North Carolina Symphony. This may include a live performance with a full- or part-sized orchestra\, a recorded performance with a chamber group of NCS musicians\, or a recorded performance with piano accompaniment.
