SUMMARY:Application Opens - Conference Scholarships
DESCRIPTION:The Professional Development Conference Scholarship is intended to provide grant funding to NCMEA members attending the NCMEA Professional Development Conference for the first time. The purpose of this grant is to encourage membership in NCMEA and to encourage yearly participation in the NCMEA Professional Development Conference for the length of a career. \nThree scholarships will be awarded each year. The scholarship funds will cover the cost of conference registration and three nights in the conference hotel. The estimated value of each scholarship is $600. Individuals may receive the scholarship only once in their lifetime. \nThe application process opens on August 15th of each year and closes on September 15th.  \nCheck the website for more information.

SUMMARY:2019 NCMEA Professional Development Conference
DESCRIPTION:The NCMEA Conference takes over downtown Winston-Salem for 3 ½ days of sessions\, clinics and concerts scheduled in the Benton Convention Center\, the Embassy Suites\, the Marriott and Stevens Center.  \nThe more than 1\,500 attendees are music educators that teach K-12 as well as at the college/university level. We also have several hundred collegiate members attend. This number does not include the students that hail from all over North Carolina that won auditions for a place in of the NCMEA Honors Ensembles: Elementary Honors Chorus\, Middle School Honors Chorus\, High School Honors Chorus and Honors Orchestra. Each NCMEA Section also invites middle school and high school ensembles from around the State that showcase the best in band\, choral\, jazz and orchestra music. \nNCMEA Conference also hosts a music industry trade show with more than 100 vendors. Exhibitors include nationally known instrument companies and music publishers as well as vendors from North Carolina.
