Online Registration – Deadline Sept. 10


Purpose:  To honor the most capable choral musicians of North Carolina’s high schools by giving them the opportunity to perform at the very highest level of achievement and to provide a superior educational experience for these students and their directors.

AUDITION PIECE: Students will prepare:

  • AUDITION REHEARSAL TRACKS are available at www.ncmeachoral.org. You may burn any combination from this website. The accompaniment track will be used for all auditions.
  • AUDITION FEE:  $15.00 per student.  Payment must be by school or booster checks or money orders and must be postmarked by September 10th.  Personal checks will be returned.
  • REGISTRATION IS ONLINE at www.ncmeachoral.org. SEPTEMBER 10th is the DEADLINE for online registration and the postmark date for fees. You will not be able to reach your registration after midnight on Sept. 10th.  Please, be sure to make changes and make 3 copies of the invoice before this time.
  • The NUMBER OF STUDENTS from a school may not exceed 10% of that school’s choral enrollment. Exchanges are permissible within a specific voice part but must be made by the coordinator after Sept.10. There can be NO changes out of specific voice-part at the audition sites.

  • AUDITION TIME PREFERENCES will be honored on a first come/first serve basis.  Directors sharing transportation should include this information online in the “Special Considerations” box. Directors should send their fees TOGETHER or on the same day in order to have similar audition times.
  • AUDITION RESULTS
    • One copy of the audition sheet will be mailed to the director and a second will be retained by the coordinator.
    • A list of all students who are selected will be sent by email.
    • Directors of students who must cancel ARE REQUIRED to inform the coordinator immediately.  Alternates should learn the music as if seated.  Alternates are expected to attend unless the director notifies the coordinator.
  • NC HIGH SCHOOL HONORS CHORUS rehearsals will be Saturday, Nov. 12 and  Sunday, Nov. 13.  The performance will be on Sunday, Nov. 13.
  • DIRECTORS AND/OR CHAPERONES are asked to be present or close by during rehearsals.
  • DIRECTORS must be current members of NAfME.  Membership cards must be shown at the audition-site AND event.  Parents or other directors who may be transporting students to auditions must bring a copy of the valid NAfME ID card with them.

  • JW Pepper will send out packets to those selected for the Honors Chorus.  You may want to have a purchase order ready for this purpose.
