World Voice Day education events flyer in .pdf format

World Voice Day was established as a special day of awareness, recognition, and celebration of the human voice. Commemorated each year on April 16th, World Voice Day owes its roots to a group of Brazilian voice care professionals who decided to celebrate the voice in 1999 by establishing Brazilian Voice Day. Since that time, this day has grown to become a world-wide day of recognition and education about the voice. We are planning a number of educational opportunities and celebratory events, and would love to invite the members of NCMEA.

Free Opera Materials

The entire "Opera for Everyone" Project (computer downloadable CDs and the Teaching Manual) is available FREE to every member of NCMEA. The four operas ("The Barber of Seville," "Carmen,” "La Traviata," and "Madama Butterfly") are presented on hour-long CDs that include expertly performed highlights of the music and discussion of the operas.
Ira Ross, producer and narrator of "Opera for Everyone" seeks to enrich people worldwide, of all ages, and at all levels, by introducing them to the Magic of Opera. To achieve this, Ross has donated the entire Project to organizations of music educators in the United States (MENC), Canada, Australia, and internationally through the International Society for Music Education (ISME). Each of these organizations has reviewed and approved the Project.
